SIMPLE PERFECTION in an ULTRA-LIGHT trekking pack. Too often load carrying performance is compromised in the design of a lightweight pack. This is not a compromise we are comfortable making. This model gets its name from Occam's Razor, the idea that "simple explanations are generally better than more complex ones". In this case we have the simplicity of a clean and classically flared bag carried on a outwardly simple but cunningly engineered back system. It is up to you to decide how to set up the bag. Choose the optional module for water bottle pockets, tool racking and compression, or go the other way and remove the hip wings for a truly minimalist lightweight sack.
The WE Razor 50 has returned nothing but glowing reports from users who have carried it on trekking adventures in Europe and North America. In an age where most pack bags are loaded up with mesh pouches and dangly bits it is the experienced walker who recognises and values simplicity.
By any measure the Razor's comfort is extraordinary. This pack was specifically designed for and is ideally suited to refuge-to-refuge mountain walking, for those of us unwilling to leave behind such pleasures but forced by complaining bodies to absolutely minimise weight.
The bag has the most efficient profile possible, optimising volume distribution and wearer posture. It has the capacity to hold a compact tent, like the Space 2 model, a 3-season compact down-filled sleeping bag and ultralight air mat - in addition to essential clothing, food and other equipment. The simple top cover with its generous cut and self-tensioning shock cord sides, besides properly covering the bag's wide mouth also provides a convenient place to temporarily store an unnecessary clothing layer or larger camera (if you don't use one of those quite excellent Pro Capture shoulder harness mounts). Simple, effective shock-corded toggle pairs on both sides of the bag can be used to fasten walking poles or an ice axe.
If you really need extra capacity and versatility you can choose the optional external module. With this extra layer you get side bottle pouches and a gusseted back pouch, useful for overloads or, again, for stashing a rainshell or warm clothing layer.
